Trivia[]

KSTP-TV has been known as "Channel 5" for much of its history since signing on. Before the station switched to ABC in March 1979, the station carried programs from NBC, whose radio network maintained an affiliation with KSTP radio at the time.

According to a Redditor, KSTP had largely ceased nightly sign-offs by the late 70s, and began broadcasting 24/7/365, opting to show classic films during the early morning hours, rather than simply sign off like most TV stations broadcasting in the US at the time. Therefore, the above sign-off statements are fake.
