This ends the analog broadcast day for WKOW-TV, Madison, Wisconsin.

The television service known as channel 27 is signing off the air for this last and final time as a full-service analog television station.

The new digital service will be known as WKOW-DT, channel 27.1

Over the years, WKOW has been owned and operated by Monona Broadcasting, Midcontinent Broadcasting, Horizons Communications, Liberty Television, Tak Communications, Shockley Communications, and currently by Quincy Newspapers, Inc.

Studio and offices are located at 5727 Tokay Boulevard, Madison, Wisconsin.

Following our national anthem, a live camera at the transmitter site will show 40-year transmitter veteran, John Korsvet, power off the analog transmitter.

If you are watching analog 27 at this time, you will then see snow.

So now, on behalf of the hundreds of broadcast professionals who over 56 years have made this a labor of love, we thank you, and we look forward to many more years of service in the new and exciting era of digital broadcasting.
